Hospital Overview and History

Metro Specialist Hospital was established in 1993 with a humble beginning, featuring 60 beds and a dedicated team of 4 specialists. Over the years, it has evolved to become a vital healthcare institution in our community.

A significant milestone in our journey was achieved on the 19th of October 2002, when we relocated to our new state-of-art premises. This move enabled us to expand our capacity to 120 beds and strengthen our team with 29 specialists and 4 medical officers. It marked a major step forward in our commitment to delivering high quality healthcare services to our patients.

In 2018, we further improved our facilities by completing a new car park, showcasing our dedication to the convenience of our patients and visitors. This car park boasts an impressive capacity of 333 parking lots for cars and 350 for motorcycles, including dedicated parking bays for 3 buses.

Continuing our mission to offer cutting-edge healthcare, we proudly initiated the ground-breaking ceremony for a new modern block on the 7th August 2023. This block will be a 7–storey building, equipped with over 200 beds, ensuring that MSH can continue to meet the growing healthcare needs of our community.

Message from CEO

Metro Specialist Hospital is the first private hospital in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Established in 1993, we began with a team of 4 professional and experienced Specialists and Doctors, suported by dedicated nurses and friendly staff - all committed to providing affordable private healthcare to our community.

From our humble beginnings operating out of three units of four-storey shop lots opposite Central Square Shopping Centre, we relocated in 2002 to our current premises at No. 1, Lorong Metro, Sungai Petani, Kedah.

With over 32 years experience in healthcare, we have grown significantly. Today, our team comprises 29 dedicated specialists, 4 medical officers and a total of 510 committed personnel, including nurses and support staff.

Our commitment to excellence is demonstrated through our achievement of the ISO 9001:2015 certification. On 26th March 2017, Metro Specialist Hospital was officially certified under the revised ISO 9001:2015 standard by AJA EQS Certification (M) Sdn Bhd for the provision of hospital operations, services and management.
