Metro Specialist Hospital Charity Dinner
Raised 65, 000 for donation to various organizations and schools
Metro Specialist Hospital, being the first
Private Hospital in Sungai Petani, Kedah, celebrated its 18th
Anniversary with a Charity Dinner on 23rd July, 2011. The event
received strong support from the community and business fraternity
and successfully raised a total of RM65,000.00 for charity which
the hospital management distributed to various organizations and
schools during the Dinner as a way of discharging its Corporate
Social Responsibility to give back to society. The organizations
which benefited from the event included Beng Siew Dialysis Centre
which received RM30,000.00, Kelab Pendidikan dan Kebajikan Puncak
in Merbok received a sum of RM10,000.00. Other receipients included
SJK Tamil Ladang Kuala Muda, SMJK Sin Min, GOSM Eagle Land II
Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Lions Club Sungai Petani and the Rotary
Club of Bandar Sungai Petani each received RM5,000.00. The donations
were given out by the Managing Director, Dr. Lim Kok Ewe in the
form of Mock Cheques Presentation during the Charity Dinner. Executive
Director, Dr. Tneoh Shen Jen in his speech said that Metro Hospital
had a humble beginning in the year 1993 and started operation
with only 2 units of shop houses with 4 specialists. Over the
years, it has evolved into a sizable hospital with its own building
comprising 119 beds with 22 specialists. The success of Metro
Specialist Hospital was attributed to the confidence and support
shown by the community in the region at large, without which,
we would not be what we are today. He affirmed that Metro Specialist
Hospital will continue to provide excellent health care services
to the community in the Kuala Muda and Sungai Petani region at
affordable prices. The Hospital will continue to improve and update
its facilities by investing in more advance equipment, upgrading
the services of medical staff and specialists and to increase
its bed size to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
In conjunction with the Charity Dinner, the management and staff
of Metro Specialist Hospital had organized a Concert with interesting
programs which included beautiful presentations on International
Latin Dances, Choir presentation, solo performances, piano recital,
rock & roll dance and the impressive presentation by the Chinese
Orchestra from SMJK Sin Min. (Translated from Guang Ming Daily
