History
Metro Specialist Hospital (MSH) is located in Sungai Petani, Kedah. It commenced operations with two shop lots and four specialists on July 5, 1993 as Bersatu Medical Centre. Later, it was renamed as Metro Specialist Hospital and was officially opened by Dato’ Chua Jui Meng, then Minister of Health on January 18, 1996. Metro Specialist Hospital has successfully achieved ISO 9001:2008 re-certification on 30th April 2011. The certificate was awarded by AJA EQS Certification (M) Sdn. Bhd.

On October 19, 2002 MSH proudly opened the doors of its new premises at No 1 Lorong Metro, Sungai Petani which has a more spacious and conducive environment to provide for further expansion and development. The total land area is approximately 10 acres and half of it (i.e 5 acres) has been converted to commercial (hospital) use. Metro Specialist Hospital has a complement of 21 specialists and 3 resident medical officers. The hospital consists of a four storey building with 120 inpatient beds and 24 consultation suites. Our registered patients are currently more than 160,000. The specialist clinics are opened Sunday to Thursday from 9.00am to 5.00pm but on Friday, from 9.00am-1.00pm. The clinics are closed every Saturday. Lunch break is from 1-2pm. On Saturday (official off day), registration of patients will be conducted at the Accident & Emergency Department.
